As a group, it was a pretty good Thanksgiving week overall. For me individually, not so much. In fact, it was my personal worst week of the contest so far. But hey, it’s not about me, right?
Robin Foster dominated this week’s picks, and his 13-3 performance moved him from a tie for fourth overall into a tie for second. Kevin Stilley remains in the lead, and this week he has it all to himself as Dave Samples, who was tied for the lead last week, dropped back a game into the aforementioned tie for second place overall.
I hate to keep harping on this, but I again feel compelled to direct your attention to the “experts” over at ESPN. They had a pretty good week themselves, which is good, because we amateurs are making them look bad. If they were folded into our contest, their overall leaders would be tied for seventh, and Joel Bezaire, who is last in our contest at a respectable 100-76, would be four games ahead of their last-place contestant. Not bad for a bunch of amateurs, huh?
Remember, contestants, that Thursday football is a reality for the duration of the season. Thanks to the three of you who have already sent in your picks for week 13. To the rest of you (you know who you are!), send them in as soon as you get a chance. Let’s see if we can further embarrass the “experts,” shall we?
