I just heard the beginning of the sermon on Exodus 20. Could that be considered and endorsement? :-)

That should be “an” not “and.”

    Dear Brother Robin,

Just because I said some nice things about Brother Wes, that does not mean I endorse everything he writes, nor does it mean that I promise to pay any of his checks that may bounce!

Oh, and about the beard, this is an old picture of me in my former life, before I got up the nerve to take the plunge.

    Brother Wes,

Thank you very, very much for plugging my preaching here on your blog.

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff

    Bro. Jeff

Thanks for the endorsement correction. BTW, I think the beard hides that great smile of yours.

I am glad you are pastoring again.

    Dear Brother Robin,

You are in good company, now. Up until today, my dear wife and my mother were the only ones who ever said I have a nice smile! :)

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff

    Brother Jeff,

You said; “this is an old picture of me in my former life”. Was that the former life of Independent Fundamentalist KJV only former life? :>)

    Blessings,
    Tim

    Dear Brother Tim,

    Independent—nope, SBC

    Fundamentalist—kinda/mostly/not completely

KJV only—My dad gave me $50 with which to buy a nice Bible of my choice for my 18th birthday. I came home with a Ryrie Study Bible in NIV. He just about had a heart attack! He was KJV only at the time, but I didn’t know it! Later he left that position, and enjoyed other translations. My life progression has gone like this: KJV, Living Bible (8th grade), NIV (for a long time), HCSB briefly, NIV again, ESV, and now I am enjoying the NKJV. No translation is exactly right, as you know, so no translation is completely satisfying. None is completely wrong, either, so I have enjoyed each of these very much.

When I say, “my former life,” I’m mostly just being silly. But there was a point about a year and a half ago when I feel as if I finally got a backbone. I believe that when I grasped a better sense of what the Gospel is and is not, the confidence gained in that area spread to other areas of my life. Wearing a beard is something I had thought for years that I should do and wanted to do, but I had always caved to the pressure to shave. Other area of my life and ministry show the fruit of this newfound confidence in the Lord also, but I don’t wear them on my face!

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff

    Wes,
Thanks for making these sermons available for listening for those who want to hear the full Gospel preached. Brother Jeff is the only one in this area that has that Gift at this time. I do believe Alex will be the next one if he continues to follow in his father footsteps..

    Robin and Tim,
Brother Jeff started his beard about a year ago and since he started preaching the Full Gospel in his sermons I think he is a carbon copy of http://www.spurgeon.us/index.php
As to KJ only version of the Bible, that was in his former church.

    Dear Wayne,

On behalf of Mister Spurgeon, I thank you for paying him such a compliment! :)

    Everybody,

For the record, I have never attended a KJV-only church that I am aware of.

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff
