Thank you, Bro. Wes, for the nice comments.

That sign is just appalling. Sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes they make me want to cry. This one is the latter.

I got in trouble the last time I posted a crummy church sign (on my own blog). So maybe I’ve sworn it off for a while… but some signs are really, really bad. Kudos.

Was this picture taken first hand or was it passed on to someone? The part of the sign that has the name of the church looks photo-shopped. Notice how the letters in the name look pixelated on the edges but the letters on the lower part of the sign look ok. Just curious–hard to believe a “reformed” church would have such a sign so it made me suspicious.

    Mark,
I took the picture and I assure you it’s real. It’s just down the road from my home. I’ve actually visited the church a couple of times and it’s no different than your basic fluffy, Joel Osteen-like, seeker-sensitive, American evanjellyfish church. Every week I’m forced to drive by on my way to work and read a crummy new phrase on their sign but this was one of the worst I’ve seen.

And yes, I googled my name. I’m ashamed and embarrassed.

    Dear Brother Wes,

    That sign is really . . .
    ————-
“Show them all the beauty they possess inside; give them a sense of pride to make it easier . . .The greatest love of all is the love I have inside of me.”
    ————–
Sorry, I shot up with alot of pop music in the eighties, and that sign just gave me an flashback of a really bad Whitney Houston trip I had once!

    Thanks for the chuckle!

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff
